Custom Home With Transitional European Style
Bringing Transitional European Style to Central Iowa
Where modern simplicity meets old-world European charm. This beautiful home shares its captivating essence before you even enter, with a soft, neutral beige tone that wraps the house. It’s accented with bold, black trim on the windows and doors. The landscaping also plays a hand in the level of curb-appeal, in both the yard and in planter buckets off the windows.
Upon entering the home, you are greeted with rich wood floors, cream walls, a light fixture to match, and a winding staircase to the upstairs. Continuing on the main level into the kitchen, you’ll see a large kitchen island with plenty of room for the entire family to eat, do homework, or play. The kitchen is wrapped in white cabinets with silver handles and many built-in lighting features. After eating, you can relax on the comfortable gray sectional or couch, or white waffled chair in the living room, sit at the dark, sleek dining table, or hop into any of the white conversation chairs.
Next, you’ll find a home office and children’s playroom—both perfect for different levels of productivity! The office features warm-toned wood flooring with gray furniture and walls to cool down the palette a bit. The playroom is carpeted, with white cabinet storage to hold any supplies needed, and a table with bright red chairs to sit and use those supplies!
Storage is a common theme that continues into the mudroom. We incorporated built-in shelving with hooks and drawers to comfortably fit the entire family’s items. The dark wood color sits beautifully against the lights, walls, and floor.
Once we reach the lower level, you’ll see another large island next to the basement bar. The gray, almost concrete-like coloring of the island and floor reflects the natural light pouring in from the sliding glass doors. This keeps the basement somewhat bright even though there are some darker elements, like the cabinetry and walls.
