Contemporary Home Renovation in Central Iowa
Contemporary Room Remodel
This space was transformed from basic and outdated to sleek and modern! The built-in was previously a standard honey oak color, and we updated it with a steel fireplace with even darker storage drawers. The large sectional sofa offers comfortable seating in the room, as well as the window seats attached to the built-in. The shade of the furniture works well with the color of the built-in. The darkness of both is accented by the bright green wall and natural light flowing in through the windows on both sides of the built-in.
Staircase Transformed
In this Urbandale home remodeling project, the traditional oak staircase was removed and replaced with this sleek iron staircase custom handcrafted by Artistic Iron Works here in Des Moines. The wood treads originally belonged to a bridge near Ida Grove. The new look is transformational and achieves the homeowners vision for a contemporary statement that incorporates a piece of Iowa history.
Contemporary Kitchen Remodel
The kitchen in this Urbandale home began as a standard L-shaped kitchen design with oak cabinets and a small island. Grand Homes helped the homeowners achieve their vision of a sleek and contemporary kitchen design. A goal in this kitchen remodeling was to incorporate a large pull-out table, designed by the homeowner, that seats up to 8 people and is integrated in the island that seats four. The espresso stained cherry cabinets are accompanied by under cabinet lights, white quartz countertops, and two transom windows.
