Monochromatic Main Level Remodel in Central Iowa

How refreshing does this light, open space feel? With a neutral palette used across the open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space, we completely revitalized this home.

We began by removing a double-sided fireplace wall and installing newly painted cabinets that go all the way up to the ceiling. By doing this, we really opened up and elongated the space, making it feel much larger than before. The lighter cabinets were a main factor in brightening up this previously dark space, completely transforming the main floor for this family. 

We incorporated a fireplace into the other side of the living room, right under the TV on the wall bump-out. The furniture and decor used throughout the room range in shades of gray and provide much-needed texture to this space. The large windows complete all features, adding natural light and color into the room. 

The kitchen also receives plenty of natural light, bouncing off the white, marble-like quartz countertops. The oversized island features plenty of storage space, as well as the wall-anchored cabinets. You can see a hidden microwave and wine fridge tucked conveniently into the island as well.
