A Modern & Timeless Home Remodel in Des Moines, IA

Textures, colors, and patterns. This client wanted a modern approach to their living space with an emphasis on Art Deco and a balance between maximalism and minimalism. However, it needed to be timeless. Using warm colors and fun textures, we created a cozy atmosphere in the kitchen and living room. Pops of color were given to specific pieces to create visual interest. By using accent lighting with gold highlights, we brightened each room across the home.

We used intricate white crown molding across archways and as trim in different rooms. For the kitchen remodel, rattan counter-height chairs paired well with their dark wood kitchen island. We also included a modern minibar, perfect for hosting. With darker walls in the living room, we knew we needed to brighten the space with the furniture and accent lighting.
